At Gravenstein Community Health Center (GCHC), we offer a wide range of family planning and birth control services, alongside exceptional pregnancy and postpartum care. Our family physicians provide comprehensive prenatal care, with deliveries conducted at Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa.

As part of our commitment to supporting expectant parents, all pregnant patients are enrolled in our comprehensive perinatal health services program. This program offers education, referrals, childbirth preparation, and newborn care classes. Following delivery, we provide personalized nurse visits and extensive lactation support to ensure the well-being of both parents and newborns.

Discover what to expect during each stage, including early labor, active labor, transition, and delivery. Gain valuable insights into the physical and emotional changes that occur, as well as coping techniques and pain management options to help you confidently navigate labor and birth.
  • Writing a Birth Plan: Receive guidance on creating a birth plan tailored to your preferences and desires for childbirth. Explore various aspects of labor and delivery, such as pain management preferences, labor positions, interventions, and postpartum care preferences. Learn how to effectively communicate your wishes to your healthcare provider and advocate for the birth experience you envision.
  • Breastfeeding Preparation: Prepare for breastfeeding success with this individualized class focused on breastfeeding basics and techniques. Learn about the benefits of breastfeeding for you and your baby, as well as common challenges and how to overcome them. Receive practical tips on positioning, latch techniques, establishing milk supply, and recognizing hunger cues.

Practice hands-on skills with guidance from a certified instructor, including chest compressions, rescue breathing, and clearing airway obstructions.
