Oral Health Care

Dentist with patient

At West County Health Centers we focus on whole patient wellness, education and quality affordable dental care.

It’s important to us that our patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their dental care journey. We strive to create a welcoming environment where patients can openly discuss their concerns and receive the compassionate care they deserve. Our team is here to support you every step towards achieving optimal oral health and restoring your confidence in your smile.

The Russian River Health and Wellness Center & Dental and the Sebastopol Community Health & Dental Center are open to all patients of West County Health Centers.

We see adults and children, and offer the following services following Medi-Cal approved guidelines:

We encourage our patients to see the dentist regularly to prevent cavities, maintain oral health, and be screened for oral cancer.

Our compassionate hygienists check your gums for signs of periodontal disease and remove plaque and tartar buildup. They will teach proper home care instructions to maintain your gum health.

Deep crevices run across the chewing surface of molars. Bacteria can settle into the narrow grooves beyond the reach of a toothbrush. Protecting the grooves with a resin sealant helps prevent decay in your back teeth.

Dental filling procedures are most commonly used to treat cavities, but they are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth.

When a cavity or injury reaches the pulp, root canal treatment may be necessary in order to save the tooth. During a root canal treatment procedure, the infected pulp is carefully cleaned, then filled and sealed. For complex cases, a referral to an Endodontist may be necessary.

A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that covers the entire tooth and strengthens the tooth when there is little remaining tooth structure. We offer both metal and tooth-colored crowns.

Chewing and speaking can be difficult for people with missing teeth. Missing teeth can even affect the structure and shape of a person’s face, because teeth help keep the facial muscles from sagging. Full dentures and partial dentures help restore function and a patient’s smile.

Extractions – Tooth extraction may be necessary if the tooth is decayed or damaged beyond repair. For complex cases, a referral to an Oral Surgeon may be necessary.
