Individual Wellness Consultations

Acupuncture is the well-known and ancient healing system developed over two thousand years ago in China and throughout Eastern societies. It is widely practiced today in the United States and is especially effective for many symptoms and syndromes, including pain reduction (including chronic headaches and muscular aches and pains), nervous system balancing and emotional calming, women’s health issues, digestive disorders, and many other conditions.

In HeartMath, we can use technology to measure heart rate variability and coherence in the heart rhythm. We can then show the patient how breathing in a certain way and accessing a positive emotion influences the efficiency of their heart rhythm. Because the heart is the strongest rhythmic generator in the body, all body rhythms will entrain to the organized, coherent heartbeat, leading to optimum physical functioning.

Goals of HeartMath are quicker recovery from stress, greater psychological and physiological resilience, and emotional self-regulation. These goals are achieved by regular practice of the HeartMath techniques. At Forestville Wellness Center, the patient may have up to six individual consultations, at which point, patient and practitioner discuss a plan for periodic check ins. Heartmath sessions are conducted by an RN trained in Heartmath techniques and integrative coaching. These consultations include evaluation of the patient’s practice, introduction to HeartMath techniques and suggestions for practice at home, all of which are reviewed by one of our medical providers.

Doctors of Osteopathy (D.O.), practice a ‘whole person’ approach to medicine. Rather than just treating you for specific symptoms or illnesses, they regard your body as an integrated whole. With specialized training in the musculoskeletal system – your body’s interconnected system of nerves, fascia, muscles and bones – osteopathic physicians have an understanding of how an illness or injury in one part of your body can affect another. Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) is part of the osteopath’s training and practice. By combining other available medical options with OMT, DO’s offer their patients very comprehensive care.”
